About Us
Our History
Hey y’all! We are David, Nancy, and Dillon Bane, the family-owners of Broken Antler Farms based in Lebanon, TN, and Franklin, KY. Farming and agriculture have always played a major role in our lives, but back in 2016, we decided to make our farm operation official by incorporating the business. At that time, we also decided to start feeding and finishing our weaned calves to offer custom processed freezer beef to the public. Since then, we have continued to provide custom processed beef in quantities ranging from quarter and half beef to individual steaks and packages of ground beef. In 2019, we decided to incorporate chicken into the farm’s meat production. Our chickens are offered as whole birds as well as individual cuts such as breasts, thighs, wings, and drumsticks. In 2021, we were able to expand our operations by acquiring a new farm in Franklin, KY. Currently, David and Nancy manage the day-to-day of all the beef production at the original farms in Wilson and Smith Counties in Tennessee, while Dillon handles the chicken production with plans to expand the cattle operation at the new farm.
David has fond childhood memories of working cattle on his uncle’s polled Hereford farm and even purchased his first calf when he was twelve years old. David continued to buy and sell cattle all throughout his high school years before he went to Tennessee Tech University and received a double major in agriculture as well as a minor in business administration.
David and Nancy married in 1986, and David worked several years for the University of Tennessee’s Institute of agriculture as a 4-H agent for McMinn County. David and Nancy have since continued to raise cattle and gained an immense amount of knowledge from their experiences. David is always open to learning and trying new techniques and procedures to improve the efficiency and quality of the farm.
Being raised around cattle, Dillon took a major interest in agriculture during high school, however, he pursued a different route when he went to college at Tennessee Tech University. After graduating in 2016 with a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in civil engineering, Dillon worked as a consulting structural engineer for five years, even obtaining his professional engineering license. Dillon married his wife, Kendra, in 2018 and moved to Franklin, KY, where Kendra’s family owns and operates a cattle operation as well. In early 2021, Dillon decided to leave his office-confined engineering position and pursue a life on the farm.
